SJJFC was started in 1998 as a club for youngsters in the parish of St John’s, Chorlton who attended St John’s RC Primary School. Since then it has accepted players (boys and girls) from the wider locality and enters teams into the Timperley and District Junior Football League.
Now in 2009, we have 15 teams on our books ranging from Under 7s and 8s who compete in Friendly Festivals all the way up to Under 17s and upwards who compete in the regular Sunday Timperley and District Junior Football League. We also have an U11s team competing in the East Manchester Junior Football League, playing on Saturdays instead of Sundays.
As the club goes from strength to strength we have in place the structure to educate and coach our youngsters in the right way to play the game. The coaches with St John's Soccer School on Saturday mornings develop players from 4/5 years old and onwards and prepare them to begin to play competitively when the time is right for one of the parish teams.
Our teams continue to compete with the best in south Manchester and have deservedly earned a reputation for the club as tough opponents but fair players with good supporters and officials.
In total this represents approximately 200 local families who support and enjoy watching their youngsters playing football throughout South Manchester and Cheshire
The club also enjoys support from local traders and businesses in the form of occasional sponsorship and kit sponsorship. All kit sponsors receive team photographs, which promote their service and advertise their support of the club. They are also profiled on all club letterheads and correspondence.
Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost is proven to help footballers feel sharper on the pitch. 200 free cases are up for grabs to help amateur players be more focused.
