SJJFC was started in 1998 as a club for youngsters in the parish of St John's, Chorlton who attended St John's RC Primary School. Since then it has accepted players (boys and girls) from the wider locality and enters teams into the Timperley & District Junior Football Leagues.
In 2011 we were awarded FA Charter Standard Club Status, and at the same time have joined forces with the highly respected St John's Soccer School to offer football for children of any age. Added to which our Open Age Men's team is entering its second season (playing in the Manchester Amateur Sunday League) with the aim of providing continuity for those leaving the junior ranks.
For the 2011-12 season we shall be fielding teams in all age groups from Under 7s to Under 17s. The U7s and U8s compete in local Friendly Festivals, U9s and U10s in the 7-a-side Timperley and District Junior Football League on a Saturday. At U11s games switch to a Sunday with most teams also in the Timperley and District Junior Football League.
As the club goes from strength to strength we have in place the structure to educate and coach our youngsters in the right way to play the game. The coaches with St John's Academy on Saturday mornings develop players from 4/5 years old and onwards and prepare them to begin to play competitively when the time is right for one of the teams.
Our teams continue to compete with the best in south Manchester and have deservedly earned a reputation for the club as tough opponents but fair players with good supporters and officials.
In total this represents approximately 200 local families who support and enjoy watching their youngsters playing football throughout South Manchester and Cheshire
The club also enjoys support from local traders and businesses in the form of occasional sponsorship and kit sponsorship. All kit sponsors receive a framed St John's shirt and team photograph, which help promote their service and advertise their support of the club. They are also profiled on all club letterheads and correspondence.
If you are interesed in joining, contact the relevant manager for your age-group (see The Teams link on the banner at the top of the page) or send an enquiry to info@stjohnsjfc.co.uk.
