A perhaps fitting end to the season for the U17’s. The word dull isn’t a word likely to be used for any match we’ve played this season. With 2nd in the league guaranteed, we took on Wythenshawe who in 3rd couldn’t catch us whatever the result. We were 1 nil down (again) within 10 minutes, albeit to a fluked wind assisted cross. Omari’s trade mark jinking saw him brought down in (near) the box & he converted the resulting penalty. We spent a good portion of the game giving their keeper back passes & struggled with our final ball.

In the 2nd half, 2 of our lads tackled each other on the edge of our box for Wythenshawe to smash 1 in to re take the lead. Finally a lovely through ball found Jesse on the right, he squared for George to equalise. As we searched for the win, we piled forward, hit the bar but lost our shape & with 5 minutes to go a long ball found a Wythenshawe lad yards off side but he put them 3vs2 up. Straight from the kick off, Oscar found Roberto to equalise. It got a little feisty in the final minutes & from a free kick we hit the bar again with the last kick off the match. A fair 3vs3 draw to end the season. Shame we weren’t playing for the title tonight but c’est la vie!

Well done boys, it’s still been a great season & thanks families for all the help & support through the season! ??⚽️
