The U17’s had an exciting morning. For those not there, we played a mini league with 3 teams playing two 25 minute matches to decide who goes thru to the next round of the cup.

We played Sale Utd (1 division above us) in the 1st game & I felt we had more of the possession & created several 1/2 chances which we didn’t convert. In last minute we failed to clear our lines & Sale scored. Bit of sickner tbh!

The lads picked themselves up (as we have all season) & in 2nd game against Ashton (2 divisions above us), we outplayed & our competed them with Omari causing havoc to their defence & getting us a 2 vs 0 win! ?

Ashton then beat Sale in the final game & with each team winning 1 game, it set up a very unusual 3 team penalty shoot out! But it wasn’t meant to be. Still very proud of how the boys played against higher division teams & hopefully sets us up well our final 2 league matches.

By my maths, 1 point guarantees us promotion, win both and we go up as Champions! Just a shame we couldn’t extend our involvement in the cup. ☹️

Well played lads. ?
