On the last Saturday of the season St John's conceded a last minute goal to lose a 7 goal thriller against Wythensahwe.

The summer heatwave continued and in a hastily arranged fixture St John's faced a confident Wythenshawe team.
St John's started well, looked confident in possession and had several good shots on goal. Wythenshawe showed good composure on the ball and their forwards demonstrated good movement to find space behind the St John's defence. St John's midfield pushed forward to look for the opening goal but got caught up-field, Wythenshawe counter-attacked and overwhelmed the ST John's defence to force the ball home for the opening goal. Chances were created at both ends but the score remained 1-0 into the first break.

St John's hit back in the second third when Matvey hit a fine shot from a tight angle to level the scores. St John's then took the lead when the Wythenshawe right back inexplicable played the ball across his own box and allowed Harry to nip in and toe-poke the ball past the keeper and into the net. St John's could not keep the lead for long and gave the Wythenshawe number 7 too much space allowing him to turn a shoot past Sam to tie up the scores at 2-2. With skill and movement Wythenshawe created more chances but Sam made several excellent saves to keep them at bay and ST John's in the match.

In the final third St John's looked to have secured a well deserved victory when Jack smashed in a wonderful free kick from midway into the opposition half to make it 3-2 to the Bees. With time running out Wythenshawe pushed forwards, St John's defended stoutly but eventually the pressure told and Wythenshawe scored to make it 3-3. A draw would have been a fair result but Wythenshawe managed to secure an unlikely victory when a hopeful cross deflected off Micah and into the net.

Fergus was given the man of the match award for another skilful composed performance.
The boys battled bravely throughout the match and deserved at least a draw.
