The early history of St John's U14s

The team was formed in 2006, in time to compete in the 2006-07 Under-10s division. The driving force behind it, and its first manager, was Rob Knight, now club treasurer. In the first years all the players were pupils at St John's Catholic Primary School.
In their second year, as U11s, Rob took them on to win their divisional cup, with every squad player getting on the pitch.
For the last two years Graeme Thompson has stepped up from assistant manager to manager. As the boys went to different secondary schools, so the squad has evolved, with new friends and players joining and some old Johnians leaving.
After a transitional year as U13s, this year's bigger squad has started very well.
